Convirture Named “Vendor to Watch” for Private Cloud ManagementReport by industry analyst firm, Enterprise Management Associates, provides analysis and recognition for product offerings
SAN MATEO, Calif., March 18, 2013 -
Convirture was named a “Vendor to Watch” by industry analyst firm, Enterprise Management Associates (EMA), in its just released report “EMA Radar for Private Cloud Platforms: Q1 2013,” which was created to assist information technology (IT) professionals with the selection of private cloud management products.
The report contains detailed analysis of the leading solutions in the market place, offering guidance to organizations looking to adopt the most effective platform to meet their unique, private cloud requirements. It is authored by research director, Torsten Volk, of EMA, a leading IT and data management research and consulting firm.
Convirture’s flagship product, ConVirt, is described as “one of these indispensable products” in the report, which goes on to say: “EMA believes that Convirture deserves more time in the spotlight, due to the product’s tremendous virtualization and cloud orchestration, and automation capabilities.”
The report states: “EMA was impressed by Convirture’s take on the concept of the Software Defined Datacenter, ensuring agility and efficiency through a central self-service portal and enabling organizations to take advantage of multiple hypervisors (ESXi, Xen, KVM) and cloud resources (Amazon EC2, OpenStack, or Eucalyptus). End users can then determine where to best run their individual application workloads, while Convirture ensures that these workloads are placed into resource pools with sufficient headroom.”
“We’re always pushing to be where the puck is going – and we believe that is building on today’s virtualization and cloud platforms using our management capabilities to create software defined infrastructure,” said Arsalan Farooq, CEO of Convirture. “By reflecting the end user perspective, EMA has validated our approach – meaning that now it is possible to create data centers with keystrokes and mouse clicks without lifting servers and messing with cables.”
